ARDMORE — Last week we told you about Joy Buchanan and her efforts to organize a local blood drive in honor of our troops. Monday, as the Oklahoma Blood Institute announced it had hit a “critical need” level, Buchanan and her soldier son who’s just home for the holidays watched on, as more than a dozen people came out and donated. ARDMORE — One mother says she has all she wants for Christmas. Her soldier son is home safe and sound. She says this season of celebration could have been one of mourning for her family. Her son could have been at Fort Hood November 5th – the day of the mass shooting – but was not. Now she’s doing something to give back.
